Challah sculpture based on Berakhot 55a, which teaches that “A dream uninterpreted is like a letter unopened.” A letter-shaped loaf of braided bread with a defined border has been broken open, like a torn envelope. From the opening spills the word “TOV” – Good! – also made from braided bread. The same section of Talmud teaches that when we have troubling dreams, we should try to find the positive messages hidden inside them. The challah is atop a pile of mail, mostly blurred, save for the phrase “Important Document Enclosed.”
